URBANARA Charity Campaign 2020/21

As we reached December 2020, we wanted to give a little back with your help at the end of a thoroughly turbulent year. After supporting people in need in Berlin and Manchester in 2019, in 2020 we looked to the home country of our rugs: India. A country we fell in love with on our first visit. Over time, we’ve built a deep and special connection to the culture and people of Mirzapur and wanted to give something back together with you last year.

Together with our local partner, we selected two projects that we wanted to support. For every order over £150 placed between 21 December 2020 and 31 January 2021, we donated 1.5% of the purchase value to support wonderful causes, doing incredibly important work. Find out more about last year's donation campaign here.

Education is the key to a promising future – which is why we wanted to support the Model Upper Primary School. The proceeds were used for a drinking water facility – which was previously missing – so that the 534 pupils and 18 teachers are able to access clean drinking water. In addition, a science room and a playground were created so that the children of the Model Upper Primary school can both learn, and play. Thanks to your donations, we were able to fund these projects, thus greatly improving the students and teachers lives.

Giving together

We donate 1.5% of the value of your order over £150 to two projects in India.

Medical aid

Together with you, we support the non-profit hospital in Mirzapur.

A bright future

The 534 schoolchildren at Model Upper Primary School are happy to have access to drinking water.

2020 taught us how important your health is. Therefore, we decided to support the Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital in Mirzapur in addition to the Model Upper Primary School. For the patients, the Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital is a place of hope for a pain-free and healthy future, because the medical professionals care with heart and commitment for people who live in poverty and cannot always afford treatment. Since the Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital is non-profit and therefore offers all treatments at low or no cost, it is even more dependent on donations. We were able to make a contribution to pave the way for a healthy future for the people of Mirzapur.
