URBANARA Charity Campaign 2020/21

As we did last December, we would like to give a little back with your help at the end of this thoroughly turbulent year. After supporting people in need in Berlin and Manchester in 2019, this year we look to the home country of our rugs: India. A country we fell in love with on our first visit. Over time, we’ve built a deep and special connection to the culture and people of Mirzapur and would like to give something back together with you this year.

Together with our local partner, we have selected two projects that we would like to support. For every order over £150 placed between 21 December 2020 and 31 January 2021, we would like to donate 1.5% of the purchase value to support wonderful causes, doing incredibly important work. Find out more about this year's donation campaign here.

Education is the key to a promising future – that is why we would like to support the Model Upper Primary School. The proceeds will primarily be used for a drinking water facility – which is currently missing - so that the 534 pupils and 18 teachers can have access to clean drinking water. In addition, a science room and a playground are to be created so the children of the Model Upper Primary school can both learn, and play. We hope to be able to fulfil these wishes with your donations.

Giving together

We donate 1.5% of the value of your order over £150 to two projects in India.

Medical aid

Together with you, we support the non-profit hospital in Mirzapur.

A bright future

The 534 schoolchildren at Model Upper Primary School are happy to have access to drinking water.

Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital

This year alone has taught us how important your health is. Therefore, we’ve decided to support the Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital in Mirzapur in addition to the Model Upper Primary School. For the patients, the Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital is a place of hope for a pain-free and healthy future, because the medical professionals care with heart and commitment for people who live in poverty and cannot always afford treatment. Since the Ramkrishna Sewashram Hospital is non-profit and therefore offers all treatments at low or no cost, it is even more dependent on donations. We want to make a contribution to pave the way for a healthy future for the people of Mirzapur.
