Tightly woven wool loops form the aesthetic pattern in our Aluva rug collection and provide for a particularly pleasant feeling underfoot. A special weaving technique is used for the dense pattern with a yarn made from felted wool. The precisely arranged loops slightly vary in soft colour gradations and thus, create an additional optical effect. We recommend ordering our special underlay too, to ensure your runner doesn't budge.
Care & FairCare & Fair is a charity working in carpet making communities across India, Nepal and Pakistan, ensuring children in these areas are given the opportunity to break the cycle of child labour through provision of education and healthcare.

Urbanara is a .co.uk -- and at the time of our purchase was not transparent about the impact of Brexit on UK purchases or how substantial additional charges would be levied. Brexit is an unpleasant fact of life for all, but it does sellers no favours to skate over its impact and not set out the position clearly. As it turned out, the UPS carriers in the UK was the weakest link. UPS asked for and pre-collected £90 additional fees online via Paypal, but then failed to deliver -- incorrectly stating they had made two attempts to collect the money -- that is the £90 that had already been paid to them promptly. UPS also provided scant and incorrect information about their "final delivery attempts" --seemingly implied threats that they would return the goods to Germany, (though of course only because of their own incompetence). The UPS website is bafflingly complex and just not fit for purpose. At least Urbanara promptly returned the extra UK charges on request, but were pretty dismissive with regard to sorting out the UK delivery while all this was going on. Urbanara is a good website with some nicely designed products you don't see elsewhere. We really like our Alvara rug, although on reflection it was fairly expensive for what it is. All the more reason to be sure you now consider any EU purchase carefully. Hopefully Urbanara might take some of the lessons from our experience on board. It would be good news if they found a more customer friendly UK carrier.
