Dasheri Runner

Charcoal & natural diamond motif

100% jute

High contrast charcoal and natural hues create the diamond weave showcased in our regal Dasheri Rug. Ethically hand-loomed in India according to Fairtrade standards, this stunning piece is made according to age-old techniques using all-natural jute. Contrasting threads are worked together to create the repeated diamond pattern, while beige threads are knotted and cut to form a fringe finish along the width.

Team with our rug underlay to ensure your rug stands the test of time.

This collection couldn't be more desirable if it tried! Combining beautiful, rugged natural material (Fairtrade, of course) with strong, rich colours and a wonderful diamond weave, these rugs will give any living space a vibrant lift. Aside from aesthetics, the Dasheri is relatively easy to clean and maintain: made of 100% jute, dirt does not cling to the hard fibres, but instead rests loosely in the weave. It’s a great choice for those who crave a pop of colour but don’t want the hassle of caring for a heavy carpet.

Adam ASKS:

"Is jute a suitable material for a rug? Isn't it rough?"

"Jute is a vegetable fibre that is spun into coarse, strong threads. Jute rugs are therefore rougher than cotton or wool rugs, but are extremely hardy and will withstand heavy use. Combined with a second fabric, jute can add an interesting texture to a rug, and creates a rustic, traditional look. Unlike animal fibres which remain intact, jute can sometime lose fibres; the weave will nonetheless remain strong."
