Rimo Rug

Natural & multicoloured design

Jute with wool detailing

ONLY A FEW LEFT - was from £89

With a rustic texture and warm, multicoloured accents, the Rimo Rug has an earthy quality that will lift the mood of your room. Hand-braided in India according to Care & Fair standards, the Rimo Rug is constructed with jute – a sustainable material renowned for its robust, hard-wearing properties. The flat, textural weave is off-set by rings of hand-plaited wool that add interest and finish the edge of this round design. With its natural colour, this reversible rug will work well in tiled rooms in need of a touch of warmth, or will protect flooring from desk chairs and small items of furniture, such as coffee tables.

Made according to Care & Fair certifications in India, the Rimo collection has been hand-braided by adult weavers who are fairly compensated for their work. The design is made according to traditional rug-weaving techniques for a durable and reversible finish, giving the collection added longevity: simply flip it over from time to time to maintain its condition. In addition to its ethical production, the jute used to craft the Rimo is sourced locally, and is a sustainable material that requires little water or pesticides. For an ethical and environmentally friendly design, the Rimo certainly fits the bill.

Selina ASKS:

"What does Care & Fair mean?"

"Care & Fair is a charity that works with rug producers in India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Their certification signifies that no child-labour was used during the rug production process. In addition, proceeds raised through the organisation are used to build schools and hospitals in the communities where the rugs were produced."
